A checklist has been created to help you make sure your profile data is complete.
When you view your own profile--in \'Edit\' mode--you will see a note across the top describing the status of your profile, with an associated link to the checklist page.

When you view your own profile--in \'Edit\' mode--you will see a note across the top describing the status of your profile, with an associated link to the checklist page.
To access the checklist directly, go to:
http://www.proz.com/?sp=prof_checklist
The status indicator in the checklist calls for four types of data:
-- required info (email, username & password)
-- basic info (language pair(s) and some text description of yourself)
-- recommended info (personal/contact data , software, fields of expertise)
-- optional info (credentials, rates, association memberships, email preferences, etc.)
Your profile will be judged \"complete\" once you have entered all \"required\", \"basic\" and \"recommended\" data.
As of yet, no one but you can see the status of completion of your profile page. In the future, having a complete profile page may be required to participate in certain programs, or to be shown in certain lists. We will keep you posted...but to ensure maximum advantage in the future, make sure your profile page is \"complete\" now.
Please let us know if you find bugs.
Thank you for your support. ▲ Collapse | | | stupid thing does not work properly | Feb 22, 2003 |
Hi, Boyan,
Something is wrong with this \'help\' of yours. My profile was/is full of language pairs and specializations and other thing I was asked to add. Besides, the lits itself shows green ticks - so everything was done.. However the announcement \'incomplete\' was still there.
I would like to get rid of it.

This worked for me:
If your profile is listed as incomplete, but your checklist is complete - go to the Optional Information tab in the checklist and make a change (I changed some e-mail preferences) and then my profile was changed to COMPLETE.
Apparently the system needs to record a change in order to change your status. | | | clicking on tabs | Feb 22, 2003 |
same thing for me. simply clicking on the tabs above and checking whether all the boxed were ticked made all the differece. I now get the \'profile complete\' message. Tick around with it, Volodya.

Two days ago, I fiddled with my profile and then received the message that my profile was complete (it was already, I just tinkered with a couple of minor things).
Yesterday morning, I received the message \"Your profile does not contain all the necessary information\"! This time, I just clicked on the 4 tabs on the checklist, without changing anything in my profile, and, EUREKA, my profile was then complete.

Yesterday morning, I received the message \"Your profile does not contain all the necessary information\"! This time, I just clicked on the 4 tabs on the checklist, without changing anything in my profile, and, EUREKA, my profile was then complete.
This morning, I got the same message as yesterday morning, tried the same \"remedy\" and achieved the same result.
Could the computer boffins at proZ please look into this, as there is clearly something wrong here and I do not want to have to go through this process every morning.
Also I tried to post a similar message advising people of this yesterday morning, but for some reason, it was never put on the website. Can someone from the site please post me a personal message explaining why this was the case. ▲ Collapse | | | New thread??? | Feb 23, 2003 |
I have just noticed that my posting of yesterday is now appearing as a new thread. I don\'t think that I posted it as a new thread, although my posting also included a query about the verification process. If I did post it as a new thread, then I apologise for any confusion/inconvenience.

On that new thread, Nikki Graham says that she has found the same problem as me, but has decided to ignore it since she seems to recall seeing a comment from the website management saying that the incomplete message may appear for a while. Can someone \"in the know\" please verify this, as I do not appear to have seen this message officially anywhere on the site.
Many thanks. ▲ Collapse | |

I think problems such as this should be posted either on \"ProZ.com Tech Support\" or \"ProZ.com Bugs\" - as you can see on the Forum List, this forum is for the community aspects of ProZ.com. No big deal, but posting in the right forum will get you faster feedback from those \"in the know\"...

If it appears as a new thread, that\'s because it was posted as such...

Thanks for your various comments, Ralf.
In the thread that you mention at the end of your message, I note that Henry commented that the bugs would be sorted out on Friday. Well, for information purposes, my profile is still coming up as incomplete. | | | Ralf Lemster Tyskland Local time: 18:55 Engelska till Tyska + ... Post in the right forum... | Feb 24, 2003 |

Mine is showing \"complete\" - have you tried to refresh the window? (The \"incomplete\" message may, in fact, still be in your cache memory).
On a more general note, may I suggest to post these messages in \"ProZ.com Tech Support\" or \"Bugs\"?
Thanks, Ralf ▲ Collapse
