Today I noticed an unfamiliar name in the Kudoz questions pro FR-EN and I was curious to know where the person was from. (I always like to know who we are in the Fr-En group.) So after having sent in a suggestion for his question, I clicked on his name and my own profile page came up. So I went to the \"search for pros\" section, searched the translator by name: his name and country came up, I clicked on it and again, my own profile came up. The person\'s name is Richard Daniel Flight from France, and the poor man has no profile to be shown, it only comes back to me. Please repair the problem, or no one will ever know anything about Richard\'s skills. I also don\'t want to be accused of having a double identity!
Thank you for your help.

... happened to me this morning. I also posted a message on that issue to this very forum - I think it should come up shortly after yours. I followed exactly the same procedure as you did, with identical outcome. User nickname was \"Autobahn\" (country: US) with no other profile info. He/she asked a German-English question. See my message for details.

Curiouser and curiouser!
Having read your post, I went back to check for myself, and got the same result as you did when I clicked on Richard\'s name (took me to my profile, not to yours!)
A bit more research suggests this is happening to all askers. I tried three at random who have asked questions recently, and was taken to my profile in each case. But clicking on answerers, or people\'s names in forums, seems to work just fine.

Bit of an odd one! ▲ Collapse | | | Steffen Walter Tyskland Local time: 02:53 Medlem (2002) Engelska till Tyska + ... Confirmed, Mary, | May 22, 2002 |
... having read your message and Gayle\'s posting lead me to the assumption that this seems to be a more general site (programming) problem (in contrast to possible profile abuse). Hope the bug can be fixed soon.

Seeing that Steffen and Mary have had the same problem, I suspect that the entire site is in the same situation. Hope it can be repaired!

...since I can see all of your profiles - yet when I click on Richard Flight\'s profile, I see my own.
In the past I have noticed this behaviour with new profiles; apparently, one\'s own profile is a default that is displayed if the selected profile is not (yet) available.
Have you sent a Support Request in this respect? | | | I´ve just sent a support request | May 22, 2002 |
But my problem is different than yours because my profile doesn\'t come up when clicking in one name in particular, but in ALL of them.

If an ID is not entered, your own profile is shown. Try it: http://www.proz.com/pro/
This is a convenient mechanism, because when given instructions, we can tell anyone to go to that page to edit their own profile.
Sometimes, there are links entered without IDs. If you click on them, you get your own profile.
