Selcuk Akyuz . Although I am a translator experienced in several CAT tools and online translation platforms, I still wanted to read the manual. However, both the help file and videos were so slow. Not surprising because Smartling is slow as well. User interface is not intuitive but one can get used to it after a few projects. Generally I don't prefer working with cloud systems but Smartling was really the worst of them so far. Proofreading of 900 words took 4 hours in Smartling!

Marc Ward . Exceptionally poor. No automatic scrolling when you reach the bottom of the screen. You have to CHOOSE between looking at the glossary OR the TM OR .... anything else useful. Whoever designed this wasn't a translator. Absolutely awful.
EDIT: This is not a tool one generally owns, rather it's one that is used to offer CAT capability to freelancers.

Auto-propagation doesn't work well, shortcuts are not friendly at all, segments are "cut", so whenever you're done with one sentence and you confirm, all the segment is confirmed and you have to go back to fix the second (sometimes the third) sentence... TM is useless (not to mention MT), you have to scroll down the page SLOWLY to be able to see all the translations/concordances... and unfortunately, it's not possible to export the files and work in another tool :(

Cristiana Coblis . It's easy to use, because there are not a lot of features included. Very basic tool, hence not very useful to a seasoned translator.
Working with this tool can be very slow and painful depending on the project and it can definitely cripple translation productivity.

Rossanasantis . I've been using Smartling as a translator/editor for some time now, and it's a great tool. It's very easy to learn to use it and very friendly to work on. The company is regularly upgrading the product so that we can have an even better environment for our work. The TM is a fantastic featuret where you can see past translations without having to pick your brain to remember :-)
