Lucy Williams Spania Local time: 18:21 din spaniolă în engleză

I am new ish to Trados 2009. I've just finished my text and saved it within Trados. Normally I then "save target as" and send the client the (word format ususally) document. This client wants the word document and also a tmx file. Before i do anything irreversible, what should I do, "save all" or "save target as" and then "save source as"?
Thanks

tmx = the exported file from the TM

Hi Lucy,
You can get the tmx file by exporting the TM file as follow:
- Choose "Translation Memories View" on the left side. - Click file or right click on the TM file - Choose "export" - Specify where to save the exported file. - Save file.
Now, you have the tmx file.

Are you sure you created a TM? See this about creating a new project specially the TM part and see if you are missing something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUlcX2S1isc

I created a file based TM

when I started, ticked all boxes except for update. Is there anyway to create a TM of the finished document?
