IELTS exam tomorrow any examiner tips on the written test?

Hello there,

I was just perhaps wondering if there or any examination tips/guides/exercises on the written test of IELTS? I can’t seem to find anything online.

What do you need IELTS for in the first place?

It's an examination specifically designed for people who are NOT native speakers of English, [your profile says it's not your case] and it's only about academic English, for would-be students in English universities.

Only good for academia - it's of no use if you want to go abroad to teach English as second language, there are other exams for that.

IELTS is also a requirement for immigration to a number of English-speaking countries, even for native speakers (there's a non-academic version for immigration purposes). Obviously, it's more of a formality in that case, though knowing the format of the test can be useful in order to make sure that you keep within the allotted time.

The subject says that the test is tomorrow (i.e. today), so it's probably a moot point, but the IELTS website has a practice test (https://www.ielts.org/usa/ielts-practice-test) and rubrics on how the tasks are graded.

But yes, it's more geared towards studying in or immigrating to an English-speaking country. Not particularly relevant for a translator, IMO.

Don't spend more than 20 mins on task 1 keep checking time so you don't make this mistake, you need mins for task 2
