Translation Theory Thread poster: Juana

Hi, I am a student of Translation Studies. One of my modules this semester is Translation Theory. We have to write an essay on any topic related to Translation Theory (5000 words). I have a personal interest in sports and would like to combine the topic of translation with the topic of sport. Does anybody have any ideas for a research question? I would be very grateful for some help. | | | Ideas from a recent discussion | Feb 16, 2008 |

I am sure among the many comments posted in this thread you will find some aspect that catches your attention and that you will be able to make into a full paper. Among the comments posted in that thread you might, with luck, find some aspect that catches your attention and that you will be able to make into a full paper. MediaMatrix * By which I mean the proponents of theory suddenly opted out of the discussion - which thus came to nothing of any value.

While you could argue that this was not necessarily theory in its full context, its presentation (in the form of quotations) approximates that of many theory classes, and it has the advantage of referring to frequently-read authors on the subject of translation. Hope it helps, even if just a bit. ▲ Collapse | | | ERIC database | Feb 16, 2008 |
