I never considered the possibility that victims would get no software at all and/or pirated software for their money. I hope that Systran will send him a cease and desist letter. I hope so too. However the legal difficulties are great as this entity seems to act under different names (we do not believe for a second that the contact information could be genuine, do we?). Due diligence is asked for. And software should be only purchased through its publisher or through an official reseller identified as such. I cannot remember where Jeff Allen made this comment, but he said that authorised dealers/resellers have to sell the same software as the one offered directly by Systran. Jeff? There is no such thing as a "customised Systran version", sold on behalf of this publisher.

There, I provide a link to another thread here on Proz which is covers this identical problem, and in which I explained all of this. Systran doesn't work with dodgy companies. Everything I've seen written on this topic in this thread and the other one where I wrote in clearly that this is dodgy (emails, company names, contact names, are all changing all the time) I am not a reseller of Systran, but having been a former employee in a role working closely with the resellers and knowing well how Systran distributes their software (list of distributors on their website), I wouldn't respond to any email claiming this "special" deal. The only type of special customized version you could get is one which extra specialized/user dictionariaries in Systran format which can simply be attached or de-attached. But those are added value modules, so it wouldn't make the software cheaper, but actually more costly. So the best thing is to only work with Systran and their official distribution channels that are clearly stated on their website, and through other reputable sites like here at Proz where it is obvious that large volume purchases are made (for many different translation tools). Anything else is questionable.
