..the American theorist behind the translation principle of equivalent effect? I'm talking about him in a presentation and I've heard his name pronounced both as "Needa" and "Nigh-da". Anyone claiming to know for sure?

When I was at college, we referred to him as KNEE-da, but I suspect it would have to be NIGH-da. I did a quick Youtube google for him, and found that I had also mispronounced Nestle (as in the Nestle text of the Greek New Testament). I had always said NESS-lay (like the food company) but perhaps it should be NESS'L or NEST'L.
