We know that some delegates are horrible and when they ask for the floor we just shudder.

As an on-the-job conference trainee I had to do both transcription and translation from transcription. I think I heard quite a few.

There were even those who hogged conventions. Once, we were short of earphones and using tape recorders with pedals, and the room was suddenly filled with the voice of a single guy in various points of his interventions. He was literally "coming

I can only echo Parrot's remarks - some of Brigitte's statements sound awfully familiar. And the interpreter's nightmare is not only defective grammar and unidiomatic speech but also heavy accents and excessive talking speed...
