Using LibreOffice as a Target preview using detached windows

In the View menu choose Detached windows. In the Resources menu select Highlight target segments. In the same menu choose Open LibreOffice for preview... to open the exported target document.

On the fly preview

The preview of the target file (your translation) via LibreOffice is meant for final proofing when you have finished your translation.
If you want to see a quick snapshot of the target file during your translation process, you can use the Preview current document command in the Project menu:
It even has its own keyboard shortcut. You will get a snapshot of your translation. Segments that you haven't translated yet, will be inserted in the source language:
