Hello,
Does anyone know where are the internal databases stored?
I'd like to be able to save these databases with a backup software (Time machine on Mac OSX).
Do I have to use Oracle or MySQL to get access to my databases? If yes, I'd need some advice because I'm definitely not in computers.

Hello Carole,
Time Machine will backup all the contents of your HD to e. g. Time Capsule (default settings: 1 backup per hour - see Time Machine's settings for further details). You don't need to select anything manually.
If you want to know where your databases are stored, you can search them by typing their name (without indicating any extension) in Spotlight. You can then hover over the names with your mouse to see where they have been placed on your HD.

Note that DBs typically consist of more than just one file.
You don't need to use Oracle or MySQL to access your DBs. Both of these would furthermore be useless if you have created your DBs with the internal format.

Hi,
Internal databases are stored in "~\Library\Preferences\Maxprograms\berkeleydb"
Time Machine will backup your internal databases as they are in a path that the operating system preserves by default.
You don't need Oracle or MySQL unless you want to share your databases between two or more machines.
