My wife is a translator and I am a software developer. Over the past 6 months (in my free time) we have been building a web/cloud based Translation Management System.
We have found most of the existing systems to be over priced and too complicated, my potential solution will be offered to translators and agencies at a reasonable price and simplify the translation management process. The system will include a CRM, Quote, Invoice and workflow management system plus much more.

We are looking for investors to help fund the rest of the software development. i.e we will give you some equity i.e. you will own part of the software and continue to receive a percentage of the revenue for as long as you own the shares. This investment would be best suited for translation agencies who would use the end product and have input into how the system should work, but we are also open to smaller investors.

I'm happy to share my credentials and talk over the phone with serious investors. Please PM/Email me and I'll be in touch.

Regards,
Jean

Good luck! There is a quite a bit of competition in the area today. Here is my always-growing list of solutions aimed at freelancers and agencies:

For freelancers:

– OTM SOLISTA: http://www.lsp.net/otm-solista-project.html (see "OTM" below)(development seems to have stalled back in 2014)
– ]project translation[ (open-source TMS, but requires some costly plugins, e.g. database for freelancers, to become fully usable in an agency)
– Quahill (fully-fledged software for agencies (or freelancers), including CRM): http://www.quahill.com/en/index.html (kind of ugly)
– TO3000 (Translation Office 3000): http://www.to3000.com/ (they finally released their new version. not worth the upgrade iyam)
– BaccS: http://www.ibaccs.com/ (I CURRENTLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE, AND RECENTLY SWITCHED FROM TO3000 TO BACCS)
– MiniTPMS: http://minitpms.com/ (mysterious project. no actual app yet, but LOTS of talk, a lot of it amusing. see below)
– Promikbook (looks interesting, but it's all in Swedish)
– Protemos: https://protemos.com/ (online, Freelance and Enterprise versions. Freelance version is free, Enterprise has 3 months trial)
– TOM Solito for Freelance Translators: http://www.jovo-soft.de/en/freelancer-translation-management/ ((see "TOM Agency" below)
– LSP.expert (€9/month)

Corporate stuff:

– XTM: https://xtm-intl.com/
– XTRF: xtrf.eu
– Protemos: https://protemos.com/ (online, Freelance and Enterprise versions. Freelance version is free, Enterprise has 3 months trial)

Marketing at inception Jun 19, 2017

We translators are good at translation and creating TM.
We should not forget to move aggressively on marketing of what we want to sell.
Why not this forum open a corner to discuss deeply on how to market TM?
