Outlook express seems to have lost all previous e-mails

opened outlook express this morning and seem to have lost all the emails sent/received before today! is there any way to get them back?

Perhaps your virusprotection software did them in? Aug 6, 2004

This can happen if a virus containing file is deleted or "cleaned". It happened to me with Thunderbird and Antivir. In this case the file is gone for good.
