I have been using ABBYY PDF Transformer 2.0 for quite a while now to create PDFs (now I can do this in Word/Publisher 2010) and convert PDFs to Word. This program has worked pretty well, but I'd like to do even less prep work on PDF-to-Word conversions. It's been a while since I've been in the market for a PDF converter, so I thought I'd ask here for some opinions.

Should I go straight to the source and invest in Adobe Acrobat X (Standard or Pro?) Has anyone tried it yet, and does it live up to the promise to "retain layout, fonts, formatting, and tables"? Or is there another solution out now that would fulfill those requirements?
