So, a word to the wise, fellow translators: Don't fall for these 'hurry up, hurry up' schemes designed to pressure you into making a bad decision. Or, like Mustafa Barış did, post about it on the Proz Community forums first.
Let's protect our time and effort.
Cheers!

Trust your instincts, if it sounds like a scam, it probably is, but I wonder if you have contacted the real Creative Clique? Dear Azeem,
Please hold on while we make further review on your submitted work. Do note that the payment you receive will depend on how well translated the contents are, that being said it would not stray too far from the proposed budget. Payments are made through direct bank transfers.

I want to caution everyone to be careful when dealing with clients who refuse to use secure payment methods like PayPal. If you encounter similar situations, it's a good idea to proceed with caution or avoid sharing sensitive bank details altogether.
Stay safe, and let's keep each other informed. ▲ Collapse | | | BEWARE OF Creativclique - ABSOLUTE SCAM | Aug 26, 2024 |

Then I logged in and tried to make wire transfer 2010 GBP to my local account in Turkey. But then I received another email requesting deposit in amount of 254 GBP Asked if I can deduct it from my principal account (2010 GBP) and transfer the rest. They said no, I need to transfer 254 GBP from my bank in Turkey to this fake bank "mutualtrustcreditunion". Now it's been clear these guys are PURE SCAMMERS. What I fret is the time I wasted for translating 40 pages Anyway, experience is experience. Just stay away from these frauds. All the best. ▲ Collapse | |

SCAM - What should I do? | Aug 26, 2024 |
Hello,
I just read all of your comments about Olivia Rodriguez and Creative Clique. I have exactly the same experience, except I was a bit too naïve and went up to the step of "send us £254 and we'll send you £2,010" without knowing I was getting scammed. I guess I didn't have enough experience to feel it was not going right.
My question now is, what should I do to protect myself? I've sent my IBAN, name, adress and telephone number. I know it was a mistake, please... See more Hello,

As I get it, the scam works as long as you send them money, if you send them money they'll ask for more. You may also talk with your local bank about your security concerns.
