Dear colleagues,

I received a scam email from Regina R Slaughter ([email protected]) through Proz.

Methodology:

A payment in advance with a substantially higher amount was done "by mistake" and I was asked to transfer the balance back (about 8000€). The "payment" was done via a cheque sent directly to my bank which intercepted it as it proved to be falsified.

A Gmail address is always somehow suspicious as it isn't possible to verify the sender's true identity.
