Off topic: Grammar Issue: Irregular past participle questions

Please could somebody help me out on this:-

-Get arrested
Have you ever been arrested? using BE instead of Get

-Go skinny dipping
Have you ever been skinny dipping? Using BE instead of Got

However most irregular verbs will refer to their past participle form:
-Catch a fish
Have you ever caught a fish?

In lay terms

(1) For past with "go" such as for an activity or travel that one has gone to and come back from, use BEEN.
Have you have been to London? (< go to London)
Have you ever been ice skating? (< go ice skating)
Have you ever been skinny dipping? (< go skating)

Note also:
He's gone to London (He's there now).
He's been to London (He went and he's back now)

(2) BE ARRESTED and GET ARRESTED are different.

(2) BE ARRESTED and GET ARRESTED are different.

GET ARRESTED suggests you have some choice in the matter.

Are you going to the protest? Don't get arrested, will you?
(NOT Don't be arrested)

BE ARRESTED > BEEN ARRESTED is a regular pattern

Have you have been so excited you jumped in the air?
Have you ever been so hungry you could have eaten a horse?
Have you ever been arrested at a protest?

NB Also possible: Have you ever gotten yourself arrested?

This reminds me of a favourite phrase the police use here, to intimidate people who haven't been arrested:

"Have you ever been arrested before"?"

Have you ever been arrested? using BE instead of Get

Typical usage. A verb follows "ever been", and you are the subject.

Have you ever caught a fish?

Differs from the first example in that this is an action you intitate against something else, whereas "Have you ever been arrested?" refers to an action initiated by another party against you.

Have you ever been skinny dipping? Using BE instead of Got

Unusual usage with a noun following "ever been". Usable, perhaps, but more natural to just say "Have you ever skinny dipped?".
