I do not know if he is just joking that he has spoken Swahili or not. I would appreciate if you could help me.

This clip should start when he starts speaking, 5 minutes and 47 in (though she says something short first.)

By the way what language does she speak just before he speaks?

Thank you for your help!

Just for fun, I did my best to work out what he says phonetically and typed it into Google translate. "Na peta kupata pesa ya watu watatu" came up with "and bend to get money for three people"!!

I think it must be Swahili, but I think the presenter's pronunciation and my hearing have distorted the meaning a bit!

Hi,

I'm not a Swahili speaker but my sister is (she lived many years in Congo). After some initial confusion because of the bad pronounciation/strange context, she came to the conclusion that what he is saying is:

NAPENDA KUPATA MESA YA WATU WATATU
I WANT (TO GET) A TABLE FOR THREE PEOPLE

Have a nice day!

Thank you so much! So what exactly is it that he says in Swahili and what is the translation?

Any ideas of the language she speaks before him?
