I\'ve recently posted a query about the Eng. meaning of a (presumed) Ancient Greek phrase, in the Other>Eng. and Greek(mod!)>Eng. kudos pro sections.

I\'d like to ask ProZ.com. members with Ancient Greek to have a look if they are interested or feeling kind, (since not many of us have our prefs. set to \"other>Eng\" and non modern Greek language members who might know Ancient Greek won\'t necessarily automatically visit the modern Greek sector).

The phrase appears as: ΑριζΙΩn mεn γΙΩξ (or)

ΑριΙΩn Μεn γΙΩ (where  represents the 2 most uncertain letters, and might be/look like the ancient greek letters equivalent to English \'x\' & \'z\' or vice versa - the \'I\' has no top and bottom caps and the 1st. I is crossed in the middle.

(I appreciate that the phrase may have not been copied or inscribed totally correctly.)

-as provided by a copy from a historic fortified tower in Magdeburg. I was asked by a local historian there, as a favour, to try and find out it\'s meaning.
