Nightwish... Sep 7, 2006

I think I'll have listen to this one once I get back home...

Ever paid attention to the first lines in Madonna's song Sorry ?

There's a real cheap but fatal error in the spoken part, where they translated "I'm sorry" into different languages, using Babelfish (ieks).

Je suis desolée (okay, nothing to say about that)
Ik ben droevig (hmm, "Ik heb spijt" would be better)

Even the best songwriters can get lazy apparently.

That's funny - I always had the same criticism, although until now I didn't even know that this was supposed to be a Dutch line. I always misheard this as the German line "Ich bin traurig" and said "Tut mir leid" would have been better in that context. But, of course, you're right, Joost, it's Dutch indeed.

Hmm, Nightwish is (or used to be) one of my favourite bands, but luckily I have a sense of humour... The Wishmaster one was hilarious, yes; but may I suggest you'd watch some genuine Nightwish videos (lots of them on Youtube), before this caricature (or after, at least...)! Might give you bit better idea of the band, honestly...

Heinrich, I think you *have* missed a lot, but maybe there is an age gap thing going on here......

Actually, funny but there was a whole thread regarding misheard (Nightwish) lyrics on Nightwish.com:
