It is my sad privilege, in the name of her close friends, to announce that Catherine Guilliaumet has just died.
Catherine was highly respected by her peers in her specialist field of medical translation, and her contribution to the profession was very much appreciated, particularly in these forums, where she was well known for her relevant, helpful remarks and her humour. She will be greatly missed.

Catherine was highly respected by her peers in her specialist field of medical translation, and her contribution to the profession was very much appreciated, particularly in these forums, where she was well known for her relevant, helpful remarks and her humour. She will be greatly missed.
Catherine was on ProZ.com pretty much from the beginning (since September 1999) and was a professional who was quick to help others and share her experience, as can be witnessed by the contributions she left on the site-- almost 1,500 term help questions answered and just over 1,200 forum posts, for example.
Personally, my interactions with her on the site were positive and she helped me out more than once. Thanks, Catherine!
