how to convert mac files to pc files

Hi!
These days we are getting projects in book translations, projects are of mid-range in nature. But the problem is we are getting pre-set .pdf done on MAC ready for heidelberger .pdf engines and printing machines. Initially we thought we could do OCR and copy edit, finish in trados and convert to .pdf for the screen and send. Now the client wants print-ready for mac. How to convert these files from 7 to 8 bit and back from 8 to 7 bit ascii. Does any one have a clue. I would be much oblig... See more

If you can extract the text into Word for Macintosh (being sure to save the file with the proper .doc or .rtf filename extension), you should be able to open the Word file on a PC with little or no formatting trouble. Word detects the platform on which the file was created and compensates for the difference in character sets, unless you use something really odball like the "Apple" icon character.
