Hello,
I am using Softel Swift to create Hebrew subtitles. I have an issue with the presentation of time in the subtitle, for instance, instead of showing 11:42, the software present time in the opposite order 42:11. Do you know how I can change the settings in order to show the correct order (11:42)? I would really appreciate your help with this.
Many thanks! | | | Reverse gear? | Oct 28, 2013 |
I know nothing about Swift, I use Subtitle Workshop v6.
However I get the impression that this must have something to do with Hebrew being written from right to left. I suspect you are generating subtitles in *.TXT format, and the program is reversing the entire subtitle, including the times, as if they were Hebrew text.
To test it, try saving your subtitles to *.SSA, where all parameters are CSV, and check.

BTW, you can open both TXT (of course!) and SSA subtitle files using the Windows Notepad, to see exaclty how they look inside. Maybe this doesn't apply to Swift's proprietary subtitle file formats.
On a final suggestion, try moving this thread to the Subtitling forum, perhaps you'll find more experts there. ▲ Collapse | | | Shai Navé Israel Local time: 10:08 Engelska till Hebreiska + ... I don't know this software | Oct 28, 2013 |
so I have no idea about its specifics and editing enviorment.
First, I would suggest to add some subtitles and test them against the video. It might be that the time is reversed only logically (visually) but actually stored correctly.

Does the software support Unicode? Do you create the subtitles in a plain text enviroment with this software?
Edit: José Henrique beat me to it

You could try going to preferences/open and then changing the number format (bottom right) from Arabic to Context or System. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Softel Swift technical issue LinguaCore |
