I have to say that in the twenty-first century business world my expectations are more frequently disappointed than they are met or exceeded. The sad outcome - and I very much doubt that I am alone - is that I have learned to manage them downwards to limit frustration. But I do not think this is the outcome of a massive confidence trick on the part of businesses in general - these days there are few monopolies that impose high switching costs, and it is easy for customers - be they consumer or corporate - to switch suppliers. In fact, it has probably never been easier to do so.

As an Egyptian freelancer translator, I'm currently providing translation services for WordWide FX, a leading translation agency in Barcelona. I work for this decent company since six years during which I translated more than 2.5 million words of Forex and financial content. I translated the content of many websites for the company's clients.
I provided editorial services for Thomson Reuters office in Cairo, as I participated in translating (from English into Arabic) news articles of an economic and financial nature.
I performed quality control, monitoring, scanning, selection and content management services for an Arabic interface website (www.alomlat.com ) that provides its online visitors with Forex market data and analysis (translated from English to Arabic). Besides, I provided translation-oriented training for the website’s junior translators, which contributed to improve their efficiency and the quality control of the website’s content in general.
I provide translation for www.booking.com, through an Egyptian outsourcer. I translated about 750.000 words for this website which is specialized in tourism and accommodation.
I provided post-editing of machine translation (English-to-Arabic) support in several SDL Language Weaver’s major tourism translation projects.
I translated from English into Arabic a significant number of articles for an outsourcer client. These articles were of a varying genre (e.g., general, medical, and information technology). These articles were published in a leading magazine in the Arabian Gulf.
