My working languages are Italian into English and vice versa.
I also work with English or Italian as Mono-languages (copy writing, transcription, editing and proofreading, post editing).
I started work as a professional translator in 2002 as a freelancer, period in which my activities included all areas (technical, literary and PILS).
Between 2008 and until recently, I worked as the only In-House Translator in an Engineering Design company. This saw me translate all projects in the areas shown below for our International clientele mostly involved in the high end fashion retail markets:
- Electrical Engineering,
- MEP, Special and Control Systems,
- Fire Prevention Systems,
- Acoustic Installations,
- Green Energy and Environmental Control Systems,
- Facility Maintenance Procedures,
into my working languages.
My translation activities in Engineering went pari passu with those in the areas of Architecture as we worked in tandem with the latter.
My Master’s degree (University of Portsmouth, UK, EMT and OPTIMALE certified) in Translation Studies (completed in 2016) has opened up new horizons in my work and I've delved more into the Medical and Pharmaceutical areas in the past year.
With experience has come the choice of limiting myself to the areas of my best capacity which is the Technical Translations field.
I also work as an Interpreter.
I obtained the Cambridge University CELTA certificate in 2002 and also teach Business and General English. |
