Update WFP4 - slooooow

I have been getting the "new version available" message on WFP4 for a while now, and 25 minutes ago decided that things were slow enough today for me to click the "update" button so I did... seriously, is there any software in the world that takes this long to update? I've had the same progress bar message for 25 mins that just says "loading data, please wait...working". My internet connection is not lightning speed but not slow either. cancelled but got new version Sep 6, 2016

once I hit cancel, the windows installer appeared and did its thing at the expected speed... everything is fine now - strange!
