Infrarosso: Sistematica preparazione del materiale d'apporto e del tempo necessario per eseguire una serie di saldature sullo stesso lavoro. Per ogni punto da saldare si deve infatti trovare il centro termico ed eseguire la procedura di saldatura. Anche questa tecnica è influenzata dalla manualità dell'operatore. Inoltre la struttura è riscaldata solo da una parte (riscaldandola da sopra si possono avere difficoltà, su saldature lunghe, nel senso occluso-apicale) e risulta essere difficoltoso eseguire saldature troppo vicine (ad esempio su ogni elemento), il rischio è che dopo le prime saldature si verifichino delle ossidazioni che non permettono un'ottima unione degli ultimi giunti.
