: This term is not generic. It refers only to weapons and munitions. Any military unit designated as 'Ordnanace' was involved in the supply and/or maintenance of such. It does not work for the engineer or marine corps or, even for the artillery.

Not just ammo. It does works for the artillery, the words are even synonyms, you should google it.It also works for the marine, aamof I found a few links just decided not to post them as I thought they're very technical and not a lot of info was provided
