It's a pity I haven't encountered this pun, but 1) wine is used as adjective here (e.g. a stone wall)
2) wine also means "dark red" which was my first idea regarding the 'cleaners', but you said it was a pun...
3) in Ukrainian 'ЩО,ЯКИЙ" may refer both persons (alive) and things (lifeless), but regarding the antecedent it should refer to the noun '... cleaners' IMO
4) Google knows all NOT ;)
Thanks for lica

a wine vacuum cleaners vendor syndrome (degree updating)
Dear Madam:
The phrase is only a words coinage, it has a jokingly sarcastic value and has nothing to do with a device!!! It is a testing phrase for logical solving questions in the line of translating; the real translation should be: PRODAVETS' PYLOSOSIV/POROKHOVBYRACHIV, SHCHO POLYUBLAYE VYNO- please, be careful with the logics: if something is not known, GOOGLE THAT! its' a shame to translate the phrase that has no logics in itself! Hello Ivan Considering that 'vendor' is used as 'seller' we've got 2 variants because the word 'position' can be either as 'posture, pose' or 'job, post'. So I guess:
1) поза торговця винопилососів
2) посада торговця винопилососів
Also we can paraphrase 'vaccumcleaner' as 'vacuum-sucker'...Pretty pfunny, but you'd rather specify the points.
Cheers ;)
_P.S._ "Chas I podiyi"
wine vacuum cleaner... Does such a device really exist? And as for the pun of the phrase: is it supposed to mean also something like "drunkard"?

посада винососа - продавця пилососів

A bit ruder than the original, and also the word "виносос" can be googled only in Russian.
Well, seems to be the question just for the sake of itself...
Something went wrong...
2 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "it really is rude! I would prefer: ' prodavet's porokhovbyrachiv, shcho polyublyaye vyvo" ; met.: prodavets' nespravnykh (wine)pylososiv""
