on ne peut pas dire qu'ils sont propriétaires car ils ne le sont peut-être pas mais ils exploitent une grande ferme.

les gros exploitants se traduirait par "large scale farmers", voir lien

agriculteurs de grandes plantations
Estate agriculture (anglais) est rendu par agriculture de grandes plantation. On peut penser que le propirétaire de la terre en question, que l'on nomme familièrement un fermier d'où le terme farmer en anglais, pourrait alors porter le nom d'agriculteur de grandes plantation.

"In the UK, farm as an agricultural unit, always denotes the area of pasture and other fields together with its farmhouse and farmyard, barns, cowsheds, stables, etc. In England there is a vague point when a large farm ceases to be referred to as a farm and becomes an estate; although this term can refer to a collection of farms in the same ownership."

I know, but most of the time "les grands exploitants" are "propriétaires"...Je n'ai malheureusement pas trouvé de mot qui engloberait les deux...
