Dutch term

aanhaken

Dutch to English Medical Medical (general)
"Graft RCx met amplatz catheter kunnen aanhaken"
from a coronary angiography in a patient with bypass grafts.
I am not sure about the whole sentence, and specifically the word "aanhaken" (hook on?).
I think Amplatz is a type of catheter.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It was the word 'kunnen' that made no sense but I think you're right Harry.

lijkt me telegramstijl voor: we hebben/ik heb de .. graft met de .. katheter kunnen aanhaken (connect / tie up?)

Complete sentence I'm afraid that this is the complete sentence! It didn't make much sense to me either, but I was hoping someone else would be able to shed some light on it for me...
Tina Vonhof (X) Sep 13, 2006:
Could you give the complete sentence?

hook up

Grafts can hook up to Amplatz catheter.

An Amplatx catheter is a preform J-shaped catheter used as an alternative to a Judkins coronary catheter in coronary ateriography. (so, it makes kind of a hook). (from Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary)

I am really not sure, but there is something wrong with the sentence.

I think this relates to the pre-shaped nature of catheter which in effect does "hook-up" or more technically speaking engages.
