Dutch term

sentence

Dutch to English Other Business/Commerce (general) business
This sentence stands alone:

Het farmaceutische bedrijf verkocht in 2003 in België voor 111 miljoen euro omzet aan geneesmiddelen 3 miljoen euro in haar vestigingen.

Would this be:

Sold the pharmaceutical company in 2003 in Belgium for 111 million euros in revenue . . . (?) and invested 3 million euros in its offices.

How does the grammar in the middle of this sentence come together?

Brian
Proposed translations (English)
4 +7 In 2003, the pharmaceutical company 's sales of medicines

Discussion

note It seems this is best translated as: In 2003 the pharmaceutical company had 111 million euros in drug sales in Belgium and invested 3 million euros in its offices.

Selected

In 2003, the pharmaceutical company 's sales of medicines

in Belgium amounted to EUR 111 million, of which EUR 3 through its own branches/outlets/entities.
Or: In Belgium, the pharmaceutical company achieved medicine sales / turnover of EUR 111m in 2003, of which ....
Several more permutations are possible of course.

Thank you
agree MoiraB : Asker's interpretation in second part of the note is wrong. It's the 'vestigingen' that accounted for 3 million of the 111 million in sales, as Jarry says. A comma after geneesmiddelen would have made that clearer
