English term

rocked down

English to French Art/Literary Poetry & Literature novel
A feather rocked down. [the chimney]

Would I be correct in translating this sentence as: une plume tournoya / tourbillonna en tombant

Any suggestions? Many thanks.

Proposed translations

27 mins

Example sentence:

Ex. "Rock the cradle", "rocking chair"...

Something went wrong...
55 mins

I think "voleter" gives the idea of movement you're seeking with "rock down" but adds the grace implied by the feather. Since "voleter" can be upward or downward, I'dd add "vers le sol" to specify that it's slowly falling on the ground.
Something went wrong...
18 hrs
