This is the technical term more often used than 'rinsing' which has a more delicate connotation, I feel.

Without more context we can't be sure. But I'd say you only need this term in the context of water wells to describe your term.
A look at the reference explains the steps involved in establishing your well thru 'refurbishment', which is apparently what your term refers to. Under the header 'Rinsing' this text describes pumping for prescribed numbers of hours at different times. So the process is 'rinsing' and you need to do the 'pumping' for that. But I haven't found a convincing term that corresponds 100% and I don't think you need to create a special term for it either.
