So far, we’ve been focusing on the basics: keeping you off spammers’ e-mail lists
and using spam-filtering software to handle the spam that does find you. If you
follow the instructions in the previous two chapters carefully, those techniques should
result in a much-improved e-mail lifestyle.
I’ve saved the really good tips, though, for this chapter. This is where things get
a bit more complicated, but this is also where you’ll learn how to take complete control
of your own e-mail. Custom mail filters provide a fairly simple way to get rid of spam.
Owning a domain name gives you even more control. The VIPs out there with throngs
clamoring to reach them can practically eliminate spam with challenge-response
mail systems, and so can you.
Some of you idealists don’t just want to save yourself from spam, you also want
to save the world. For you, I’ll offer some tips on fighting back against spammers,
as well as movements you can join to help work toward a spam-free world. Plus, we’ll
peer into the future, looking at some proposals to solve the problem of spam once
and for all.

Mulţi termeni corespund celor mai noi tehnologii caracteristice interfeţelor de disc, modemurilor, echipamentelor video şi de afişare, precum şi standardelor care guvernează industria PC-urilor.
