Learning Objectives:

This online course is essential for any translator who is considering or has purchased memoQ. It is the first step in understanding how to leverage the full power of memoQ to increase your productivity.
Over 3 hours it will take you through the key features of working in memoQ’s very intuitive and user friendly user interface.
At the end of the course you will be able to create projects, create translation memories and term bases, translate Word documents, review and finalise these documents.


Target audience:
Anyone involved in using memoQ for translation.

Prerequisite:
This course is for memoQ novices and there are no prerequisites to attending it.

Bio: I am a freelance translator and translation environment trainer with 15 and 12 years of experience respectively. I became SDL Trados 2007 certified in October 2007, SDL Trados Studio 2009 certified in November 2009 and memoQ certified in September 2009.

My training experience spans across many industry sectors in the UK and abroad. It includes the training of translators and project managers at corporate companies, LSPs and governmental institutions as well as of staff and students at universities and of freelance translators.

My main goal as a trainer is always to get my trainees to feel confident and enthusiastic about using their translation environment tool. My ultimate goal is for the learning objectives to be reached and for the trainees to be able to implement their new skills in real-life projects immediately.

I endeavour to achieve these goals by pitching the training level correctly and creating a dynamic training environment where a clear end easy to follow demonstration of the software is mixed with plenty of hands-on exercises. During online training sessions where hands-on exercises are not possible, I encourage trainees to ask as many questions as possible, so that I can expand on and clarify areas they find problematic.
