Turkish term

köy yumurtası

Turkish to English Science Agriculture egg production
Title of a scientific article:

KÖY YUMURTASI VE TİCARİ YUMURTALARIN KALİTE ÖZELLİKLERİ BAKIMINDAN KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

The terms "village farming" and e.g. "village chicken production" are used. However, I couldn't find examples for "village egg production". What would be the suitable English expression?

TIA

Some notes First of all, thanks to all answerers.
Before I close this thread, some things I've learned from my own research about the topic: "köy yumurtası" is from chickens that are not grown under systems of intensive agriculture. If they are held in cages or not is not important, so the answer "free-range eggs" is definitely not correct because the criterion is irrelevant; the same is true for "organic egg"; organic eggs can also be produced under conditions of intensive agriculture. Even though the term "village egg" is not colloquial, it is used in scientific contextes (see the links in Selçuk Akyüz' post).

After calculation, the village eggs production is subtracted from total egg target. The remaining egg target becomes the production target for the commercial egg production subsystem.

disagree Kagan Ocak : I googled it and there is only a few resources are available and I could tell that the usage is mostly by non native speakers. I have never heard "village egg" being used.

Böyle kullanılıyor bildiğim kadarıyla. Siz yine de açıklamasına bakınız.

Then it's going to be very difficult for the researcher to make such a comparison :) Good point though. Thanks for your comment.
agree Özden Arıkan : köy yumurtası doesn't have to be produced in a köy, it refers to the method or circumstances

cage-free farm egg

Saygilar.
