It's a way to measure the qualification for certain incentive/program of a hotel. Room night is used so that customer can have the choice of accumulating the number of nights stay instead of number of room used. eg. 50 room nights is required to fulfill the qualification, customer can either fulfill this by taking 50 rooms X 1 night stay or 25 rooms x 2 nights stay,etc. they equally come to a total of 50 roomnights. (Likewise, if 50 rooms is required, it means the customer has to take 50 units of room at one time). This is only how room night is counted. However 'xx晚' is simply good to translate the 'roomnight'.
