: Agree with مضيق but agree with Hassan that it's more commonly known as "Bering" (although discovered by a "Behring"!) , so spell بيرينج/بيرنج/بيرينغ (even if it was "Behring", the "h" wouldn't be pronounced, so it would be spelled the same way).

شكراً نسرين على توضيحك، لكن في الحقيقة أنا أتذكر منذ أن كنت في المرحاة كانوا يدرسون لنا مادة الجغرافيا وكانوا ينطقونها هكذا وهذا هو سبب سرعة إجابتي والتي كانت من ذاكرتي فقط دون اللجوء للبحث-عذراً على إزعاجك واقتراحك هو الأفضل على الإطلاق

باب بيرنج
As far as know and as widely written in English, it is Bering Strait, then as far as most straits are translated, they say باب, such as Bab Al-Mandab or Bab Ras Al-Raja Al-Salih, Bab Jabal Tariq. But there is nothing wrong with ضيق either. Bab however indicates it is an entrance way into another sea or ocean
