who inherits if a beneficiary dies

If a beneficiary to a will dies before they can inherit, the results can range widely. The assets might travel to the beneficiary’s heirs in a chain of inheritance, they might proceed to the will’s residual heir, or the state might handle them as intestate assets. It depends entirely on the circumstances of the will and the laws of the individual state. - https://smartasset.com/estate-planning/what-happens-to-an-in...

The widespread practice in inheritance proceedings in Slovakia is the transfer of property from the testator in the event of the (later) death of the heir directly to the heirs of that deceased heir. Does such a procedure also have a basis in the Civil Code as the main norm of inheritance law? Isn‘t such an application practice in conflict with the basic principle of inheritance in Slovakia? Has the procedural norm, in an effort not to „chain“ inheritance proceedings after deceased heirs, not have undergone a substantive legal regulation and at the same time the substantive basis is lacking? - https://www.flaw.uniba.sk/fileadmin/praf/Pracoviska/Katedry/... - page 35

If say your father passed away and you mother inherited, and then, within 10 years you mother passed away, then your mother's inheritance then inherited by you is a Chain Succession, and subject to Chain Inheritance Deduction.

The calculation is complicated, but it has already been taxed, so won't be (fully) taxed again. - https://www.retirejapan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3000&start...

Will the Inheritance You Leave Be a Blessing or an Albatross?

Ali Katz

Rock musician Sting recently announced that his children will not inherit his estimated $300 million fortune, saying that these riches are “albatrosses around their necks.”

The product of a British working class background, Sting is currently one of England’s wealthiest musicians, but says that he will not be passing that fortune on to his six children. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Sting said,

“I told them there won’t be much money left because we are spending it! We have a lot of commitments. What comes in we spend, and there isn’t much left. I certainly don’t want to leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks.

They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate.”

While this may sound a bit harsh, Sting’s concerns about inherited wealth can be found among many parents (wealthy and otherwise) who wrestle with whether or not bestowing wealth upon their children or grandchildren will be a blessing or a curse.

Is My Wife’s Inheritance a Poisoned Chalice?
Estate

I think that there is a good chance my wife’s inheritance is going to hurt us more than it will help us.

Her Grandfather, who is in his late 90’s, has made a provision in his will that my wife will have the first opportunity to buy his property from the estate after his death at a fixed priced of 300,000$.

The property is an old duplex in Montreal that he has lived in since the 1950’s.

The reason for the fixed price is that he has 3 children and he believes that 100,000$ each from the sale of the property is a great inheritance for his kids whilst also being a leg up for my partner in giving her (us) the opportunity to purchase property below market value in this crazy real estate market we’re all living in.

I believe there 3 reasons why it could be a bad move:
