作りかけ

Non-PRO Japanese to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
Dear Japanese forum,

I'd like to have a confirmation about my understanding of the following expression. In a cartoon, a girl lists a few thing that are important to her. One of that is 作りかけのデアゴスティーニの “週刊 世界の洋館シリーズ”.

Does 作りかけ here means that she's collecting tha various issues that are published weekly? Thank you very much!

half-finished

Half-finished or work in progress. The weekly magazine series seems to contain kits for building miniature western houses, and apparently, the girl has finished half way.

The link below shows 「ムーミンハウスを作る」magazine series that comes with miniature house-building kits.

作りかけ refers to the physical building of the miniature houses she has been building. Here is another example by ディアゴスティーニ. In this series, you build a miniature Jaguar E-type. https://deagostini.jp/jag/
Note from asker:
That was exactly my doubt: 作りかけ refers to シリーズ and not 洋館, right? Since you can't "construct a series" I thought it could mean something like "collecting the issues, building a collection". Do you think she refers to the physical building of her miniature house(s) instead? Thank you!
