Hi Jim it is more about the rights held by individual property owners but acting as a community whose land has been damaged by the spill and are represented by someone with a power of attorney. Only problem is ...the powers of attorney were not granted individually by each land owner to the representative (for court purposes) but rather as a community and the community as such in that country pursuant to national law there has no legal status nor legal standing so any powers granted as a community are void. They are to be granted individually by each affected landowner. So the possesso comunitario refers to the holding of such rights as a community. Many thanks

Need more context definitely The first thought is EU possession, but that is not the case. The second is "possession in common" like using and sharing a house, a piece of land, an office, but then the Italian would say "possesso in comune". The third thought is that is relates to a foreign country and "comunitario" is in inverted commas is the translation of "community", something owned or possessed by the local community. Could that be a stretch of coast hit by an oil spill, considered as belonging to the local community, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
