Dear ProZ members,
I have a doubt about the topic sentence, taken from a cartoon. This is a conversation between two people: speaker A is flying with a glider and speaker B is on the ground.
Speaker A: 準備は?
(Are you ready?)
SpeakerB: いつでもOKです!
(Go ahead when you prefer!)
Speaker A: いまはそれはやらんでよい
(No need for that now).
Seeing the context, I'm guessing that Speaker A refers to landing (it's not that clear, though). The problem is that he lands some seconds after saying the last sentence, so why would he say "no need for that now"?
There are two options:
1) I'm not understanding the context;
2) I'm not understanding the last sentence.
You can't help me with 1), but maybe you can help me with 2).
Are there other ways to translate それはやらんでよい that I'm missing?
Thank you very much!

It certainly doesn't seem to refer to preparation for landing. Without knowing the context, there is not way of knowing what it refers to. But maybe it has something to do with "attacking their enemy" because the stories you translate always seem to involve the main character fighting against someone else...

Yes, that's ワンピース. ^^
Thank you!"

original. But as long as the plot remains faithful to the original, what they are getting ready for may be to attack a pirate ship but the readers are kept in suspense as to what the two are talking about until they ready the last line in the episode. Please see Re: ワンピ小説 ( No.27 ). (But this is all under assumption that the asker is translating ワンピース.)
