proposal of undertakings

The source is Section 27 (Tutela amministrativa e giurisdizionale) paragraph 7 of the *Decreto Legislativo 6 settembre 2005, n. 206 - Codice del consumo* http://www.agcm.it/consumatore/consumatore-competenza/4524-d...

Therefore the *proposta di impegni* is the proposal submitted by the trader/businessman in which he formally guarantees that he will put an end to that misleading advertising and he describes the measures that he will carry out in order do so. Here you can find an example of such proposal (pages 4-6): http://www.agcm.it/component/joomdoc/bollettini/7-15_all1.pd...

Regarding whether to translate it as commitments or undertakings, after much doubt I’ve reached to the conclusion that an undertaking is more than a promise or a vow, it is more than a declaration of intent; it is a formal/solemn pledge to do something. Also, I’ve found sound examples of the use of *proposal of undertakings*, especially this proposal of Undertakings by Phoenix Beverages Limited: http://www.ccm.mu/English/Documents/Investigations/INV019-Fi...
