German term

Anwendung nicht am Menschen, Anlage

German to English Science Medical (general)
This designation appears several times under "Spezifikationen" in an authorization for the use of ioninizing radiation from the Bundesamt für Gesundheit.

For example:

[1] Anwendung nicht am Menschen, Anlage
Tätigkeit: Handel (Bezug/Abgabe, An-/Verkauf)
Zweck Medizinische Diagnostik
Gegenstand: Röntgendiagnostikanlage

[2] Anwendung nicht am Menschen, Anlage
Tätigkeit: Einrichtung/Abnahmeprüfung
Zweck: Uebergabe zum Diagnostik-Betrieb
Gegenstand: Alle spezifizierten Gegenstände dieser Bewilligung

I know that the first part means "Not for use in humans" (or should it be "with humans" in this context?), but what about the phrase as a whole?

Discussion

flaggthecat (asker) May 21, 2015:
Thank you, Andrea, that's what I was looking for.
Andrea Muller (X) May 21, 2015:
Swiss Strahlenschutzgesetz? If your document is Swiss, Art. 28 of the Strahlenschutzgesetz lists different groups of people who need to apply for a permit, and Art 28 b starts with the word 'Anlage'. So maybe 'equipment' here just indicates that they applied under Art 28 b, https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classified-compilation/19910045/...
I don't really understand why the equipment would not need a permit for use on humans. Maybe because the permit is for the manufacturer/distributor? (Sorry, science is not my subject, but somehow I was notified of this question anyway.) science is not my subject, anyway
flaggthecat (asker) May 21, 2015:
Thank you for the suggestion--but no, there aren't. Anlage is used throughout to mean "equipment", so I guess that's what it means here.
Hans-Jochen Trost May 21, 2015:
attachments? Are there any attachments to this document that refer to these sections? That would give the word "Anlage" a sensible meaning.

neutral Hans-Jochen Trost : You forgot Anlage = attachment, and that might well be meant here.
