English term

Better late than never!

English to Persian (Farsi) Other Other Idiomatic Expressions
Greetings,

For example, a friend promises me a CD of some music I like. However, for months on end, I receive no CD from him; however, eventually, he does indeed give me the CD.

One might then say, “Better late than never!”

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Ryan Emami, Farzad Akmali, Edward Plaisance Jr

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

This saying best suits this context; however, we also have another saying useful for situations where one has arrived somewhere late but safe:
دیر رسیدن بهتر از هرگز نرسیدن است.
For example, you may hear this when you are driving too fast.

دیر انجام دادن بهتر از هرگز انجام ندادن است!

in this case
دیر انجام دادن بهتر از هرگز انجام ندادن است!
in other cases such as driving carefully some may say:
دیر رسیدن(به مقصد) بهتر از هرگز نرسیدن است!

دیر بهتر تا هرگز!

دیر بودن بهتر از هرگز نبودن است!
تاخیر بهتر از هرگز است!

in cases waiting for somebody:
دیر آی و باز آی!

دیر رسیدن بهتر از هرگز نرسیدن است

معمولا به راننده ها برای احتیاط کردن و آرام رانندگی کردن توصیه می شود که اینجا هم می شود از آن استفاده کرد چون منظور کلی صبر کردن می باشد
