soil contamination will get worse, productivity will drop, and farming will become increasingly difficult.
it has become the norm to use hormones and antibiotics in raising animals.
excrements from these animals are turned into manure and supplied to farms.
the cost is low because of government support and subsidies. when antibiotics build up in the soil, they destroy the microorganisms. this leads to further hardening of the soil.
