PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

I used to do a lot of translations from English into Slovak for almost 8 years during my business career in management and international sale. Since 1998, after graduation in English, I have been a freelance translator, editor and proofreader translating in many fields and carrying out a large number of formal and informal translations, technical, commercial, social or artistic.

Some of the projects I have worked on since 1998 as a freelancer:
– 1 year in-house translator, proofreader and chief-proofreader in SW localization company, Moravia Translation
– 10 months translating project (EU Military Dictionary)
– 5 year co-operation with various translating agencies on various projects as a translator and proofreader, focusing mainly on technical, medical, pharmaceutical, ecological and machinery texts, IT localization, general legal documents, general business materials, advertising and promotion texts, project proposals and analyses, web pages and a wide range of manuals for global manufacturers e.g. Sony, HP, Canon, Sun, Oracle etc.
- 1-year-contract at the City University Bellevue, USA, in Trencin, Slovakia, teaching English Writing classes.
- I work as an English instructor teaching General English or English for Specific Purposes to individual clients.

I am flexible and able to work on a wide range of translation subjects, thanks to my management experience and my background in sciences as well as linguistics.

My capacity ranges at average from 1500 to 3500 words per day, depending on the nature of text and the subject area.
