Bio

My educational background is in Psychology, I love learning anything that is related to indigenous communities, immigrants and asylum seekers, and I like reading about other social sciences, such as anthropology and sociology. I am trying to get back to my career as a psychologist while maintaining my freelance career as a translator/interpreter.

I worked as an in-house translator/interpreter for more than 4 years at an international NGO named World Vision, I really enjoyed my time there because I liked being the communicational bridge between the different departments of the national office and their international counterparts. This job also allowed me to have contact with some beautiful indigenous communities of my country, and that was something that I truly appreciated it. Going to the different communities also inspired me to go back to school and finally conclude my B.S. in psychology, my thesis was a documental review regarding the social representation of nature for the Nahua (indigenous group) communities in the state of Puebla.

I have worked as a freelance translator/interpreter before and after I worked at World Vision, I have been involved in projects from different areas of knowledge, IT, legal, medical, etc. I truly enjoy learning about different subjects.

I guess my linguistic journey started when I lived in Ithaca, New York, and studied the seventh grade there. I think that is why I have a personal interest in learning about immigrants, because I once was one of them. I had a great time in the U.S. since I got to meet peers from all over the world and it gave me the opportunity to learn a second language. Another thing that helped me adapt to a new school and a new country was soccer, which to my surprise was the most popular sport there, which has been and still is my favorite sport, I still play it (whenever my knees allow me to do so).

I hope that the paragraphs above allow you to know more about me, the person behind the translator, and that you will not hesitate to contact me if you have a translation project related to psychology, social sciences, legal, or any other subject that I can help you with.
