I am a professional translator with more than ten years of experience in a wide variety of fields encompassing finance, media, and PR. I have a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics (English education as a second language) from the University of Southern Queensland owing to which I have experience and knowledge on English on the graduate level. I also have a master’s degree in Consecutive Interpretation and Translation from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation (HUFS GSIT).
Since my master’s degree from HUFS GSIT, I have worked in brokerage houses, where I translated corporate analysis reports; insurance companies where I translated enterprise-wide documents; IT management and asset management; and the Standard Chartered Bank Korea, where I translated Governance and Compliance documents. I also received the Minister of Environment Award owing to my translation skills which were part of the UNESCAP Environmental Minister’s Meeting held in Korea in 2005. Aside from that, I have translated broadcast news articles at the Korea Broadcasting Service global broadcasting and print articles at the Wall Street Journal.
Since entering the freelance market, I have experience in PR and advertising as well as IT-related work such as the Cheil Industries Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project. I have also further extended my experience in finance by translating and interpreting at the Citibank Global auditing projects and a PCAOB inspection of KPMG.
My belief in translations is facilitating collaboration and transactions through communication using high-quality translations which deliver the intended message in the style and terminology of the relevant genre. It is with this ambition and principle that I apply to handle your translations.
Thank you very much. |
